About 12 Houses
 
There are twelve houses in a Horoscope. Each house is known for its own functions and responsible to know the future of a native in each sphere of life for example, the first house represents physical body, nature of a person and character. First house is called as Ascendant and we start anti clock wise, therefore, the second house will be right side of the first house and so on.

The Lagna/Ascendant: (Rashi Rising at the time of birth)
The first house represents the physical body, complexion, health, nature of an individual, longevity, the early part of life, the personal development of the child and the character as a whole.

Second House
It is known as kutumba or the family of one’s parents. This house has to be seen for speech, right eye, the food one eats, the money one gets, jewellery, longevity of spouse and marriage, and also death.

Third House
The third house of the horoscope represents the birth of co-born, siblings, efforts made by the native to achieve goals in life, short journeys, communicative skills, talent, servants, subordinates, longevity of parents, friends, neighbours (good or bad relationship with them),  right ear, shoulder, arm, letters and quick writing, all extra curricular activities like: sports, singing, dancing and painting.

Fourth House
This house is called as “Sukhesh” means the house which gives happiness from all luxuries in house, conveyance, comfortable life and luxuries, domestic happiness, education which gives satisfaction means education of own choice. This house also represents Mother, parliament, attainment of post, thrown and higher improvement in the standard of living. 

Fifth House
Fifth house is the house of education for a child, birth of children for a young person. This house also indicates Worship of God.  Also; it represents the higher education, intelligence, emotions, karmas of previous life, change or break in professional life and Body Part: upper abdomen.

Sixth house
The sixth house of the horoscope represents the Diseases, enemies, opposition, disputes, legal cases, loss, accident, stamina to fight back, success in competition, competitive exams, difficulties, struggle, maternal uncle, loans, service, contract, domestic pets and body part: waist. 

Seventh House
Seventh house of the horoscope is called as “Kalatra Bhava” means spouse. One gets married in the dasha (period) of seventh lord. This house gives trips to Foreign Country, Marriage, spouse, lover, business, partnership in business, trade, foreign countries, attainment of post, public image, settlement abroad and death in old age. Body part: Lower abdomen.

Eighth house
The eighth house represents the Longevity, sudden fall, secret aspects of life, wealth of spouse, disgrace, change, unorthodoxy, inheritance, adjustment in the married life, controversy, Legacies, sudden financial gains, prolonged illnesses, inherited diseases, cause of death, sexual and conjugal life.

Ninth House
This house is also called as the house of Fate and Destiny. This house signifies the father, luck, spiritual tendencies, devotion, learning, pilgrimages, association with religious people, brother and sister of spouse, grand children, Body Part: Thighs

Tenth House

In the modern context this house is the most important house of the Horoscope because it is the house of one’s Professional life, professional rise, government, honors, respect, dignity achieved by the native. This house also represents mother of spouse and Body part is Knees.

Eleventh House
Eleventh house is the house of Gains, titles and honors one obtains in his life. Dasha (period) of the eleventh lord brings wealth, status in society, one gets good position and good results in studies. It also represents the elder brothers and sisters, business profits and financial prospects. Body Part: Left Ear and Legs.

Twelfth House:
This is the last house of the horoscope therefore, it brings expenditure, losses, tension, disturbed sleep, worries, investment, hospitalization, foreign journeys, getting settled in a foreign country, trade with a foreign country, bed-pleasure, jail, imprisonment, separation from family and spiritual practitioners.
